"Очень высокой остается смертность от туберкулеза, который до сих пор остается основной причиной смерти среди людей с ВИЧ. Каждый день бездействия увеличивает количество неоправданных смертей среди людей с туберкулезом и ВИЧ," - говорит доктор Marcos Espinal, исполнительный секретарь товарищества по борьбе с распространением туберкулеза (Stop TB Partnership)

Согласно мировой статистике, 12% всех смертей от туберкулеза происходят среди людей с ВИЧ. В некоторых местах туберкулез убивает до половины пациентов, больных СПИДом. Тем не менее, туберкулез - излечимая болезнь, и ее можно предотвратить.
