WAC Europa

A Europa tem uma gama ampla e diversa de prestadores de serviços contra a AIDS que varia em tamanho e escopo. Também tem grupos de interesse especiais como o projeto AIDS e Mobilidade e o Grupo Europeu de Tratamento contra AIDS que agem como base para alguns grupos internacionais como GNP+ e ICW.

DApesar da riqueza de experiências e conhecimento dos vários grupos, estabelecer colaboração nacional e pan-européia tem sido algo desafiador. O primeiro veículo para maior colaboração foi o Eurocaso, parte da rede ICASO. Recentemente ele foi substituído pela criação da Ação Européia contra a AIDS (AAE) que agora representa a Europa nas reuniões do ICASO, mas originalmente formou-se para criar uma voz no nível europeu visando as políticas internas da União Européia sobre o HIV em um momento em que a associação à União Européia crescia rapidamente.

No nível nacional tem havido uma colaboração cada vez maior nas campanhas e no combate, particularmente em resposta às necessidades das comunidades do Hemisfério Sul. Essa colaboração pode assumir várias formas diferentes e, em vários casos, pode resultar de um acordo de uma organização interna contra o HIV para trabalhar com uma ou mais agências internacionais de desenvolvimento para angariamento de fundos, consciência pública, combate conjunto e campanhas ou uma combinação de qualquer item dessa lista.
