Students make a large human circle in a traffic circle to raise awareness on World AIDS Day

The Department of Community Medicine in Davangere, Karnataka State took the lead on World AIDS Day organising a public awareness rally in the city in which nearly 300 students and 50 staff members took part in.

During the rally, students held up banners and distributed flyers to the public and passing cars and trucks while slogans and AIDS messages were read out loud. To raise public awareness, students made a huge human circle at a traffic junction, and chanted slogans.

This rally was the only event in the city conducted by a private institution and motivated the public to learn more about AIDS and how to prevent it.
