What we do
Each year the WAC will develop a detailed work plan, however the WAC’s overarching objectives and activities over this three-year period will be:
1 – Catalyse and strengthen national campaigns
1.1 Assess and map national campaigning needs and capacity.
1.2 Convene multi-constituency national and regional meetings/workshops to develop joint campaigning plans and links with neighboring countries.
1.3 Provide support through mentorship, communications tools and resources as well as links with other national campaigners, providers of additional technical support and donors.
1.4 Convene, promote and strengthen key national and regional leaders to promote campaigning around the themes of leadership and accountability in 24 countries across 4 regions[1].
1.5 Support a monitoring and evaluation process to measure the impact of campaigns at the national and regional level.
2 – Increase involvement of international constituency-based networks
2.1 Conduct outreach to current and new international constituency-networks so as to facilitate development of common campaigning activities.
2.2 Catalyse the involvement of new or existing constituency-based partners in Universal Access campaigning activities.
2.3 Convene and link constituency-based networks, share best practices and lessons learned on campaigning.
2.4 Convene, promote and strengthen the leaders of key constituency-based networks in order to encourage campaigning around the themes of leadership and accountability for Universal Access.
2.5 Support these networks through mentorship, communications tools and resources.
3 – Increase access to resources and information
3.1 Produce generic campaigning tools and materials on accountability for Universal Access and leadership, including guidelines and advice for campaigners (e.g.for World AIDS Day or Global Weeks of Action (GWOA).
3.2 Establish and manage websites to provide campaigners with information on Universal Access, leadership and accountability;
3.3 Share best practices and lessons learned on campaigning and leadership through newsletters and other tools.
3.4 Disseminate campaigning efforts to increase international support for national campaigns.
