The DOES HIV LOOK LIKE ME? campaign, produced by Hope’s Voice, features videos of young adults living with HIV or AIDS from around the world. The ambassadors are human rights leaders standing up to fight misconception, stigma and inequality with their faces, voices and personal stories.
DOES HIV LOOK LIKE ME?
validates and gives the opportunity for young people living with HIV or AIDS to become involved by telling their story. The ambassador’s stories are told in their own words. The campaign not only educates the general public, but shows young people living with HIV and AIDS that they are not alone. DOES HIV LOOK LIKE ME? is proud to accomplish both of these goals and allows the viewer to see the similarities and differences of those living around the world with HIV or AIDS. As we pass 25 years of this epidemic, we recognize that it is time for an approach that features young people living with HIV and AIDS and creates open dialogue about this disease. The fear-based campaigns that have dominated society have in turn caused society to fear those living with HIV and AIDS. DOES HIV LOOK LIKE ME? is proud to not use fear, but instead shows today’s realities of living with HIV and AIDS that helps to end stigma
