Students Organise WAD Events at Hawler Medical University

The Students' World AIDS Day Team (SWAD) from the College of Denistry/Hawler Medical University promoted World AIDS Day by organising a seminar and slide show for World AIDS Day in Erbil, Iraq.

The SWAD organised seminar featured information on AIDS, with an emphasis on cross-infection control, an important issues for dentists. To promote the event, students wore red and printed posters. The seminar also highlighted the fact that everyone can make a difference in the fight against AIDS, and that even simple things such as wearing a red ribbon can make a difference. The team also made and distributed fact sheets to the audience that were available in Kurdish and Arabic.

The event was so successful that a report of it was broadcast on the local TV station, Qellat TV.
